VIP SECURITY SHREDDING

Experience and Service

             In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, the environmental movement began in earnest. With this movement Recycling programs and companies began to develop in communities throughout the United States. In 1972 the City of Cape Girardeau, Southeast Missouri University and VIP Industries began a Recycling program in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Since that date VIP Industries has been involved in recycling and supplying the secondary market with fibers. In 1998 VIP was asked to get involved in the security shredding business. After review of the market capabilities it was decided to go into the business. In the fall of 1999 VIP Security Shredding was formed as a division of VIP Industries.

            The first customers were from Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  It became apparent that not only the city of Cape was in need of this service, but the region. In the following year (2000), southeast Missouri was designated and the next area to grow the service.  Because of the growth that was accomplished it was decided by VIP Security Shredding to open the service to adjoining states. In June of 2001 an aggressive marketing approach was put into place to service a five state region; Missouri, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, Northeast Arkansas, Western Tennessee. The marketing approach has been successful and the customer list continues to grow. VIP Security Shredding business plan is to grow by 25-30% annually over the next three years.

            Because of the recycling business that VIP Industries has been involved in for the last 30 years, all the papers collected are sorted and recycled. The sorting of the papers is done by the developmentally disabled employees of VIP Industries, an employer of handicapped individuals. This work force is very conscientious toward the work that they perform preparing the paper for shredding. Once the paper is sorted into the proper grade it is then shredded and baled. The fibers are recycled and sold on the secondary paper market.

            With the available work force and building infrastructure that VIP Security Shredding has, there is an aggressive marketing approach for future growth. This growth will be developed out experience and service for years to come.
